Being sedentary all winter can lead to problems.

C'mon legs, work with me, here....

Even though I have never been one of the cool kids.....

I finally broke down, and started sorting my favorites into various folders/collections. Most of them got put into multiple folders, to theoretically let me find them more easily, in the future. That's the theory, anyway. I suck at organization, so it probably won't help, at all. *shrugs*

Wow, this is a lot shorter entry, than I thought it would be.

My tablet is doing that thing where the cursor moves in a stair step motion, when I try to draw diagonal lines. There's some little adjustment pots that can fix this, but always starts happening again, soon. Sometimes, I just need to pull the stylus away, and put it back. But, it's got me feeling like I need a new tablet.

In the past, there was no question, I'd get a Wacom. In fact, my current tablet is an old Intuos 2, that I've had for over a decade. Back when I moved to Windows 7, I noticed that Wacom's legacy driver support was not what it used to be. Not to mention the stability issues, with this driver on Win 7. Sometimes, it just doesn't load, when the computer boots up. Admittedly, it hasn't done that, in a while. Might have been the same Windows patch that finally stopped my video players from crashing when I tried to open a menu.

Looking over user reviews from different places, it looks like Wacom's quality just isn't what it used to be. Even seeing reports of tablets doing out of the box exactly what mine's doing. So, it looks like Monoprice and Huion are aiming to be Wacom killers. They've both got some very feature rich tablets for well under $100. But, I'm seeing the same trend in reviews for those, that I'm seeing with Wacom tablets. When they work, they're brilliant, but when they don't, they don't work at all. Then, there's Genius, who's prices are all over the place, and seem to have their own problems.

So, I'm looking between a Huion with a rechargeable stylus, a Monoprice that I'd probably end up getting their nicer stylus for, or a Wacom that goes for more than the other two combined. I hear the Huion can't be mapped to to a single monitor in a multi-monitor setup, which means that one's probably out. Still leaning towards the Wacom, but I just don't know.

Okay, weird. I paused a few times while I was writing this, to go look at tablets, and mess with my own. For no reason whatsoever, I changed the tilt sensitivity setting. It's not doing the stair step thing, now. Why would that even.... I just don't understand this thing.

EDIT: And, it started doing it again, later....

SECOND EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. Huion tablets actually can be set to use a single monitor.

I Don't Know

So, looking through my own gallery I've come to realize something; I do not understand the things that come out of my subconscious. These weird ideas pop into my head and won't go away, until I draw them. Honestly, some of these things I just commit to paper to get them to leave me alone. Not to say that everything I draw is a random idea, that was haunting me. Some of that weirdness is intentionally cultivated. ;) (Wink)
